Hi, I’m PALLAVI!
MY RECONNECTION TO CREATING ART BEGAN WHEN I DELETED MY PERSONAL SOCIAL MEDIA IN FEBRUARY 2025.
In the absence of doom scrolls and double taps, I felt my creativity colour my life again like a paint by numbers. I started a monthly pen pal with my best friend just for fun and reconnected with the joy of true play: of colour, creativity, vibrant inner worlds and fearless expression.
As it turned out, I uncovered three antidotes to today’s world of disconnection, screens, consumerism and curation:
Burn the candle, use the stickers, or do whatever your version of using-the-thing-you’re-preserving-because-it’s-”too-nice-to-destroy”-even-though-using-it-isn’t-destroying-it-it’s-actually-just-giving-your-soul-permission-to-freely-enjoy-nice-things-without-pressure-of-perfection.
Listen to your inner child. Choose (yes you can CHOOSE!) happiness and don’t wait for it. Give yourself permission to let go of judgement and expectations because it’s all made up anyway. Delight can be wherever you look for it.
Create and enjoy art that makes you feel something good. Unclasp yourself from the myth That Every Thing Must Have A Purpose. Art is a better reflection than a mirror; it’s the portal to a whimsical other world of comfort and possibility.
These discoveries have swirled together in my mind to form the Backyard Blooms Club: a snail mail art delivery that inspires, delights and exists for the sake of joy and connection.
My INSPO COMES FROM LOTS OF DIFFERENT PLACES.
MY GARDEN
I affectionately call it my little cottage garden. In summer I like to potter around, pruning, harvesting, smelling fresh herbs on my fingers.
a LOVE FOR FOOD
Food to me is excitement: tastes, textures and fragrances all swirling together in sensory buzz. And let’s be honest, there’s almost nothing better in life than a lil sweet treat :)
INTERIOR DESIGN
I surround myself with harmoniously bright colours, quirky patterns and happy art that’s equally inviting and calming.
THE ARTY SILLY KID INSIDE OF ME
The one who squeals at new gel pens and sings made-up songs off-key and wears yellow socks with orange flowers.
